Visiting Paradise, the Lifework of Cornelius Kolig

“Stay instead of travel” – this is the inscription on the southern keystone of the Paradise complex created by Cornelius Kolig (1942–2022) in his Carinthian hometown of Vorderberg. Paradise is a unique total work of art spanning over 5,000 m² – a place that unites studio, workshop, exhibition space, archive, cemetery, and garden. Between objects, paintings, sculptures, drawings, and stagings of nature and the body, a multifaceted lifework unfolds here, inseparably linked to its location. A place where art, life, and landscape merge – and where all sensory impressions can be intensely experienced. The walk lasts approximately 2 hours – please bring hiking gear if needed. Please note that the site is not accessible for individuals with limited mobility. There are no step-free accesses or suitable aids available.
