LVS Training - Companion Rescue

Our 1-day avalanche course will bring you up to date on avalanche/emergency management. Together, we will practise the emergency scenario and thus contribute to greater safety in mountain sports, because caution is far better than hindsight. The first 15 minutes are crucial in an emergency! Only with the right strategy and skilful, trained handling of your emergency equipment (avalanche transceiver (LVS device), shovel, probe) is a quick rescue of buried companions possible. Every winter sports enthusiast (winter hikers, ski tourers, snowshoe hikers) who moves in avalanche-prone terrain should have basic knowledge of how to use their personal LVS device, practise the correct handling regularly and refresh existing knowledge. Technology is also constantly evolving in the mountain sports sector – including avalanche transceivers (LVS) and protective equipment in general (avalanche airbags, probes, etc.). There are technical advances and improvements designed to make searches easier – however, any technology is only as good as the user’s knowledge and application of its functions. The course is offered in small groups and is the ideal preparation for advanced training programmes. Participation requirements: Enjoyment of movement in wintry surroundings, a certain tolerance for cold and motivation, thirst for knowledge and willingness to learn for a very intensive day-long event.
